The outsole is equipped with even more durable rubber, specifically on the heel of the shoe for the heel-striker. The outsole is also equipped with more cushioning in the arch region to cater to flatter feet. The new outsole was made for a variety of runners and is made to fit their individual needs.
UPPER
The signature upper of the Ghost has kept its same structure and mesh material with a few slight improvements. The engineered Air Mesh upper from the Ghost 13 is even more enhanced in the Ghost 14, offering even more breathability and ventilation. The upper also hugs your foot in all of the right places, and the shoe comes in various widths for those needing a little bit more room. Compared to the oval design of previous models, the flat lace design gives better lockdown as well. At the back of the shoe, the heel collar provides more support and holds its shape due to the memory foam tendencies of the fabric.
MIDSOLE
One of the most significant differences between the previous models and the new one is that the midsole is now made with 100% DNA LOFT cushioning. In the Ghost 13, the DNA LOFT extends beyond the heel to the forefoot and works in unison with BioMoGo DNA, a soft, responsive foam, while the 14 is now entirely cushioned with DNA LOFT, making for a much smoother ride and heel to toe transition. This simplified midsole construction creates more seamless transitions for any runner. With wear, the DNA LOFT technology creates a personalized shoe for every runner and adapts to an individual’s foot as they run.
